Proud to announce we are opening our second rockit bar and grill across the street from wrigley field tonight! The staff is so great and training went so well that we found ourselves ready earlier than thought- so opening early- at least most of it- saving sidewalk café for may 6th. It is a beautiful restaurant w/ the same menu as the one in river north that helped us earn the “best restaurant” award at the 2008 rna awards (and of course the same burger that got “best burger” in the country on good morning america!). As someone born, raised and still living in the lakeview area, I personally (like most) have been dying for more quality restaurants and food options in the neighborhood- and I know the consistent all American rockit quality comfort food, service, atmosphere,… combined with our friendly neighbor approach… is a perfect fit. in honor of chicago shooting “the beast” and having it’s season finale tomorrow night -- thursday the 9th of april -- i wanted to post my first scene in episode 1 where i got cast as fbi swat pulling up like crazy in a big bust! that’s me screaming waving a gun at swayze and the other actors in the end -- the lines got me my first actor’s card! look out!
shout out to patrick and all those who brought the series to chicago! the city looks beautiful in the background. and congrats on the great run to the season finale -- which i also think i have another fbi bust scene in! (in a suite this time though -- although still w/ a gun!). make sure you check it out! (that is if you aren’t coming to the big issue release party cs is throwing for the april cover i did about 3-4 blog entries below that i hope you saw!) hope to see “the beast” crew back in chicago for season 2!
as for my super small but hugely enjoyable time on camera, i spent all day yesterday on the set of entourage dressed in a sharp suit playing one of ari’s agents at the firm smack in the middle of a heated pitching exchange at the board room table…so fun! (i twittered between takes if you do that whole thing -- pretty cool) and totally interesting that 4 of the 6 speaking parts in that scene had at one time lived and worked in chicago! small world. oh, and i got called in for an audition friday to play a paramedic on “nightmare on elm street” shooting in chicago next month! scary -- see ya soon!

Love this super quick video i took with my lil camera- me @ 12:01 am on inauguration day in DC watching will. I. am sing “a new day” at the Huffington post party w/ my friend Sonya from united (who you can briefly see gripping the stage behind me locking front row).
I remember after sting and others got off stage, Sonya and I got into a huge discussion about how we wanted to help raise money for as many good causes as we could when we got home to chicago… So wanted to invite you to one of her efforts I am definitely supporting this Thursday (4/9) to benefit the Breast Cancer Network of Strength! Wow- this quick video is really moving- It got me totally excited! The international Olympic evaluation committee is officially in town today judging all of us- chicago- Illinois- the Midwest- the entire united states of America! Let’s share this video as much as possible- it will spread the good feeling, confidence, excitement, capability and strength that we all truly have toward welcoming the world to enjoy what we will make the greatest Olympic games in history!

Ok- I definitely don’t think I’m cool enough to represent the cs men of style issue- but big props to the modern luxury & chicago social family for putting a regular fellow Chicagoan on the cover when most mags usually feel forced to stick a random celeb or model on the front to make big issues fly off the stands… I am totally thankful, honored and still in shock- especially in an issue when some of the coolest people in the city are featured like david barnett, gregory hyder, danny wirtz, jeff mills, pj loughran, nicholas scimeca, jeremy bustos, dj rock city and fernando beteta… all I can say to all is grab this issue fast!
